Bulloons

When I refer to someone being a “bulloon” in future posts, I want you to know the exact definition of my new word.

bul·loon (bə-lōōn’)

n.

  • A clown; a jester: a bullish buffoon appearing on CNBC, Bloomberg or Fox Business.
  • A ludicrous or bumbling person; a fool who refuses to see anything other than rising stock prices.
  • A crazy person who is nothing but an inflated balloon full of hot air.
  • A stock market optimist who sacrifices integrity to sound smart and help people feel happy about losing money or taking excessive risk.

Etymology: A derivative of several words:

Buffoon: Middle French bouffon, from Old Italian buffone

Bull: Middle English bule, from Old English bula; akin to Old Norse boli bull
