Comic Strip Commentary
Some bloggers reproduce the work of others in their entirety and add very little of their own intellectual capital other than a few words to critique. I really don’t care what other people do with their blogs, even the ones that hijacked my work without asking permission. My preference is to just do my own work and I’ve done that about 99% of the time. The other 1% has almost every time come with the original author’s permission.
Some people have criticized the look of my blog because I rarely put pictures or colors or anything other than plain, boring text. Guilty. For a reason. I really believe in intellectual property laws (it is the foundation of capitalism) and I don’t want to go through the hassles of seeking or paying for reproduction rights.
That goes especially for Comic Strip Commentary. Believe it or not, I do have a sense of humor. I would have loved to put witty comic strips on this blog to share a laugh from time to time. If I wouldn’t care about copyrights, you would have seen a lot of Wiley Miller’s Non-Sequitur and Steve Breen’s work.
Wiley and Steve are superior artists and a few of my favorite political/business commentators. According to the proverb, a picture is worth a thousand words…. I’ll take their pictures over the thousands of words typed or spoken by most of us (including me).
